Kavita leads the entire recruiting team. Her team supports technical and non-technical recruiting, recruiting operations, analytics, and executive recruiting. The team also focuses on optimizing processes, maximizing the ability to hire quickly, reducing operational costs, and ensuring resources are effectively used.
Tell us what you did before joining Upstart.
Kavita: Prior to joining Upstart, I spent over 7 years in recruiting operations at Google.
Why did you join Upstart? What is your favorite thing about working here?
Kavita: I really connected with Upstart’s mission and the impact they are having in communities typically underserved by the credit industry. I love the fast paced environment and the autonomy to get this done with brilliant people who all align to one universal mission.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve received since working at Upstart?
Kavita: Build things and create processes that will make things better today than they were yesterday.

What advice would you give to candidates who are currently interviewing at Upstart?
