Digital Marketing Manager

Upstart’s digital marketing manager will scale display, remarketing, paid search, paid social, and other digital advertising channels to drive significant growth for the company. The manager will develop her own testing roadmaps and channel strategies while working directly on the advertising platforms to launch, analyze, and optimize the campaigns.  

Our flat team structure means each channel owner autonomously presides over substantial  budgets and responsibilities. This role reports directly to the Head of Growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a multi-million dollar advertising budget across Facebook, Adwords, GDN, and other paid digital channels
  • Design experiments for new audiences, pricing strategies, tools, and creatives to constantly improve our marketing strategy and adapt to new opportunities
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, legal, and data science teams
  • Demonstrate potential to own a larger digital team
  • Deeply understand Upstart’s target market and form creative strategies to reach our target audience with relevant messages
  • Present insights directly to Upstart’s executive team and other high-profile stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing/advertising, or related field involving business strategy and data analysis
  • Familiarity with statistical and mathematical testing concepts
  • Comfort with Excel, data visualization, and programming fundamentals
  • Highly driven and results-oriented work ethic

Strategic Partnerships Manager

Upstart’s strategic partnerships manager will work with key partners to drive mutually beneficial growth. Today, our major partners work directly in our space (as loan aggregators, personal finance blogs, etc.) but we envision partnering with a myriad of companies serving people in need of credit.

A successful partnerships manager identifies creative ways to work with other companies that also serve Upstart’s potential borrower base. He understands and empathizes with partner needs, identifying ways to synchronize those needs with Upstart’s. He takes a critical eye to the traffic we get from those partners, zeroing in on untapped opportunities and cutting away inefficient spend.

This role reports directly to the Head of Growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate multi-million dollar contracts and payment structures
  • Leverage key metrics to optimize and scale partner performance in a cost-efficient manner
  • Pre-empt partner needs; manage product development roadmaps internally to build reporting, marketing, and other tools instrumental to partner success
  • Present insights directly to Upstart’s executive team and other high-profile stakeholders
  • Manage projects across growth, engineering, product, legal, and data science teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, consulting, or related field involving business strategy and data analysis
  • Stellar communication (oral and written) and analytical skills, high emotional intelligence
  • Familiarity with statistical and mathematical testing concepts
  • Comfort with Excel, data visualization, and programming fundamentals
  • Highly driven and results-oriented work ethic
