Business Development Manager - Banks and Credit Unions

Upstart is the first lending platform to leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to price consumer credit and automate the borrowing process. Recently, Upstart launched its lending-as-a-service platform for banks and credit unions. Are you the right person to help us grow this new line of business? Upstart is looking for an experienced, talented, hard-working individual to lead the charge to bring new banks and credit unions onto our platform. This individual will manage both the sales and implementation process for new customers and help define the future of our platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets
  • Refine sales messaging, prospecting, qualifying, and closing techniques
  • Create new leads from prospecting efforts
  • Help define and implement appropriate marketing efforts to generate leads
  • Drive sales opportunities through closure and implementation
  • Provide timely and insightful input back to other corporate functions, including product development and marketing

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in technology sales or business development
  • Experience selling into regional and community banks
  • Displays a can-do attitude, and a willingness to drive activity through cold calling, personal network, and marketing activities
  • Track record of sales success and quota overachievement
  • Exceptional written and oral presentation skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, high growth environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to on-site meetings with customers
